OFFSET POLY OR DERLIN DIFFERENTIAL BUSHING- 33171135242

WHAT ARE OFFSET BMW POLY/DELRIN DIFF BUSHINGS?

E30 bushings tend to be a tad overlooked.  E30's do not age gracefully from a bushing perspective. Now you may have went ahead and swapped your e30 subframe bushing out (if not you should!). If you have switched to our 12mm raised subframe bushings to help correct negative camber, you will notice that the diff raises up with the subframe (when not running extended studs and spacers). For that reason the hole on the differential bushing must shift down 12mm so that it can still line up with the factory mounting brackets. So basically if you use raised subframe bushings then you raised the subframe and differential 12mm, you need to drop the diff hole 12mm to line up to the factory mounting hole. This is done with our offset diff bushing in this listing.

Quick note on the options when running raised subframe bushings: You have the option to run this offset bushing and continue to mount the differential directly to the subframe as it will rise with the subframe. There is one other option however. You can also use our extended diff studs and spacers kit in conjunction with a centered diff bushing. What this does is instead of raising the differential with the subframe the differential will stay in its factory position and spacers are installed between the differential and the subframe to fill the 12mm gap created by raising the subframe. This is an either/or situation and both the offset diff bushing, and the center diff bushing with spacers have been proven to work effectively. Extended differential studs and spacers can be found HERE if you decide to go that route.

As far as why you should change your diff bushing itself, well the age of your E30 alone has taken it's toll on your differential bushings. The importance of bushings on your E30 is not to be understated; make sure that e30 diff is not moving all over the place under power. If your adding power to your e30 or running on an old, beat up and broken diff bushing (often letting you know its broken with a thump between shifts) then this is for you!  This is our e30 Differential Bushing that replaces OEM part-number: 33171135242. Many motor-swap builds will also add a secondary diff mount, which can be found here; What the e30 secondary diff mounts will do is add an additional ear to prevent any diff damage. When selecting which diff mounts you'll be putting on your E30, E36, 318ti, or Z3, the question you'll need to answer is what is the primary goal of this bimmer? Is it track, autoX, street, or something in-between? You wouldn't be the first guy to track their daily! We try to cater to any and everyone when it comes to our bushings.  In our YouTube video about BMW E30, E36 318ti, Z3 poly vs Delrin, we talk a little bit about which Garagistic diff bushings suit which application best. We stand by our products, all Garagistic bushings come with a lifetime warranty.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN POLY AND DELRIN DIFFERENTIAL BUSHINGS?

This is the only bushing (replace part number 33171135242) that is for your differential in your e30, 318ti or z3. We have them in 80a poly , 95a poly and delrin!  80a e30 diff bushing is meant for that OEM + feel. That means you want a subtle upgrade for your street e30 without to much of a compromise in comfort, these are a happy medium. 80a are designed for the street enthusiast. 95a is great for dual purpose aggressive street and track applications. Delrin bushings are generally best for race application only.
